Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on receiving bribe, abusing official authority by the former Director of the school of Ararat region is completed in the General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee.
According to the sources, as a result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case a number of abuses committed by the former director of “Nor Kyank Secondary School” of Ararat region Aram Stepanyan were revealed, sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that he received bribe for appointing somebody as a teacher at school, committed embezzlement by using official authority. It was also found that A. Stepanyan used false documents to become an applicant of heading position of the educational institution; he submitted a false application and working record book on work experience to the RA Ministry of Education and Science.
As a result of comprehensive, objective and complete investigation, the frame of those involved in committing abuses, assisting to receive bribe and giving bribe was clarified and based on the obtained evidence appropriate legal assessment was given to their actions.
On the base of the obtained evidence former Director of the school of the village of Nor Kyank was charged according to Part 1 of Article 325; Point 3 of Part 3 of Article 311; Point 1 of Part 2 of Article 179 and Points 1 and 3 of Part 2 of Article 179 of the RA Criminal Code.
Charges were filed against the employee of Ararat Regional Administration O. Muradyan according to Point 3 of Part 3 of Article 38-311 of the RA Criminal Code, and against T. Asatryan according to Part 1 of Article 313 of the RA Criminal Code.
The criminal case on their part was separated as a separate proceeding and preliminary investigation was completed.
Preliminary investigation concerning the three accused people is still in process.
Note: The person suspected in or accused of an alleged crime shall presumed innocent unless proven guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code in accordance with the Court’s verdict made effective.
