Brand Souvenir Pens from Armenia-EU Partnership Meeting: Nikol Pashinyan and Alen Simonyan Have Reported Their Received Gifts to the Corruption Prevention Commission

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan have submitted reports to the Corruption Prevention Commission regarding gifts they received in February.

According to Iravaban.net, on February 24, 2025, Pashinyan received a delegation led by Nils Ušakovs, Co-Chair of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Partnership Committee, during which he was presented with two Waldmann-Edelfeder brand pens—one ballpoint pen and one fountain pen—with the inscription “Parlamentum Europaeum” (925 sterling silver, handcrafted work).

The estimated value of the gift by the recipient: 232,904 drams.

The primary source used to establish the value of the product or service was the manufacturer’s website (www.waldmannpen.com).

On February 25, within the framework of the 4th session of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Partnership Committee, Alen Simonyan received two commemorative Edelfeder brand pens.

The estimated value of the gift by the recipient: 232,904 drams.

The same source was used to assess the value of these products.

Iravaban.net had previously presented gifts reported by other officials during 2024 and conducted a study on the credibility of their prices. More details can be found here.

We remind you that as a result of amendments to the “Law on Public Service,” new rules regarding the acceptance of gifts have been established. According to these regulations, gifts given during state or official visits, events, as well as during work visits and business trips must be handed over to the state or community if their value exceeds 60,000 AMD.
