As we reported earlier, in 2020, a member of the Supreme Judicial Council, Yeranuhi Tumanyants, as a lawyer, filed a lawsuit against the then Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Avinyan and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Administrative Court, chaired by Judge Samvel Hovakimyan, decided on 3 February, 2022 to reject the claim of the NGO against the Government of the Republic of Armenia. The plaintiff appealed to the Administrative Court of Appeal. On 17 March, the Court decided to leave the verdict of the First Instance Court unchanged.
Notably, on 2 November, 2020, the “Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center” NGO (TIAC), represented by Sona Ayvazyan, signed an agreement with lawyers Davit Gyurjyan, Genya Petrosyan and Yeranuhi Tumanyants.
The contract is included in the documents submitted by Yeranuhi Tumanyants, as a candidate for the member of the Supreme Judicial Council.
The performers have committed to:
- Study the necessary documents, draw up and submit a claim to the court with the request to oblige RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan and his office to provide the non-governmental organization “Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center” with the requested information in full /including the requested documents / in the request of 01.07.2020./
- Within the scope of the brought court case, to represent the Client’s interests in the Administrative, Appellate Administrative, Cassation and Constitutional Courts, participate in court sessions and perform all necessary actions, including, as necessary, appeals and cassation complaints or appeals, to submit an application to the Constitutional Court, as well as to obtain the necessary evidence in the case and presentation.
According to the contract, the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center paid 250,000 AMD to Yeranuhi Tumanyants.
