Azerbaijan is increasingly intensifying the pressure: Artur Tovmasyan

“We are faced with limited opportunities to withstand the severe winter,” President of  the National Assembly of Armenia Artur Tovmasyan referred to the 1-month blockade of the Republic of Artsakh.

The National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh informs.

Today, on 12 January, the 32nd day of the blockade of the Republic of Artsakh, 1 calendar month, has passed.

Azerbaijan is increasingly intensifying the pressure. For the 4th day already, the only power line feeding Artsakh from Armenia has been disrupted, and the Azerbaijani side is obstructing the implementation of its restoration works.

Such developments were not unexpected for us. We face a slim chance of facing a harsh winter.

What the military-political power of Azerbaijan wants is clear, and what the people of Artsakh want, is clear as well.

The unprecedentedly difficult situation continues in Artsakh. The crisis is deepening as a result of the blockade.

Political and humanitarian negotiations between the Republics of Azerbaijan and Artsakh can only take place in an atmosphere of mutual trust. Unfortunately, that atmosphere is missing today; moreover, the blockade has further distanced the parties from the possibility of starting such kind of negotiations.

In this regard, we expect the support of the international community, particularly the co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group.

The people of Artsakh is unbreakable.
