The blockade of the Lachin Corridor, the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the world, was organized by the Azerbaijani authorities; this step has nothing to do with any civil initiative. Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan stated in a conversation with journalists.

Grigoryan assured that Armenia continues to make efforts to establish peace in the region. The created crisis once again shows the non-constructive and destructive role of Azerbaijan in the region.

“When peace negotiations are going on, Azerbaijan closes the Lachin Corridor through the so-called environmentalists. I don’t know whether there are people with the rank of general or captain among the “environmentalists” or not. But the fact that these people are representatives of the defense structures of Azerbaijan is clear. In this regard, the government of Azerbaijan organized the blockade; this step has nothing to do with any civil initiative. The situation continues to be critical,” Grigoryan said.

Let us remind that from 12 December until now, Azerbaijan continues to close the only highway connecting Artsakh to the world, the Lachin Corridor, citing false environmental reasons.
