Relations between Turkey and Greece continue to strain over the Aegean Sea. Turkey’s indignation was caused by the fact that Greece opposed the supply of American F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, and American weapons were deployed on the Greek islands.
In response to all of this, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan threatened the Greek people, saying: “One night we can suddenly come.”
In response to that threat, the Ministry of Citizen Protection of Greece stated that their country is ready for any situation and they cannot be surprised by any step taken by Erdoğan.
“Whatever happens, we can handle it, the Greek people should not be afraid. Whatever they do or not, it’s one thing, they can’t enter the borders of Greece,” Minister Theodorikakos said.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also noted that unlike Erdoğan, who is alone, Greece is not alone and has supporters.
