Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan signed a declaration on the North-South transport corridor

A joint event dedicated to the development prospects of the North-South transport corridor was held today in Baku with the participation of the officials of Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran.

As a result of the first trilateral meeting related to the development of the transport corridor between Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia, the Baku Declaration was signed at the event.

It is noted that the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, Rostam Qasemi, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Alexander Novak signed the declaration.

According to the declaration, the parties expressed their willingness to cooperate in the field of assessment and analysis of infrastructure and transport opportunities for the full use of the corridor.

In addition, the parties announced their intention to prepare a draft agreement on the Resht-Astara railway project within a month and start negotiations by the end of 2022.
