The Parliament did not elect any candidate for judge

During the special session convened on 30 June, the Parliament discussed the issue of electing a candidate for the second round of the vacancy of a judge of the Anti-Corruption Chamber of the Court of Cassation.

It should be reminded that during the first round Rubik Mkhitaryan received 29 votes, and Arthur Sargsyan – 33 votes.

During the second round election, Mkhitaryan received 40 votes and Sargsyan 15 votes. Thus, none of the candidates was elected based on the election results. 65 votes are needed to be elected.

The Supreme Judicial Council shall nominate new candidates within 10 days.
