Aleksander Azaryan will examine the appeal against the verdict in Arush Arushanyan’s case

The appeal of the Prosecutor’s Office against the verdict of acquittal in the case of Goris community Head Arush Arushanyan will be examined by the judge of the Criminal Court of Appeal Aleksander Azaryan, composed of judges Lusine Abgaryan and Mher Arghamanyan. Iravaban.net learned this from the “Datalex” judicial information system.

Earlier, we reported that the Prosecutor’s Office had filed an appeal against the verdict of Goris Ցommunity Հead Arush Arushanyan.

It should be reminded that Arushanyan was found guilty by the court of general jurisdiction of Syunik region for abusing his official powers, intentionally causing moderate damage to health, and self-determination.

The court decided to deprive the Mayor of the right to hold a position in the local self-government bodies for 5 years, to fine him 700 times the minimum wage, to impose a final sentence of 6 months and 18 days of imprisonment, which was not applied conditionally.

Arushanyan, however, was acquitted on charges of obstructing the exercise of the free will of voters, of illegal business, and violating the rules for the protection and use of entrails.

The prosecutor’s office is now demanding that the acquittal be overturned, that a new decision be made, and that the three defendants in the case, including Arushanyan, be found guilty.
