Peskov on organizing the meeting between Putin and Zelensky

The organization of a meeting between the Presidents of the Russian Federation, and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin, and Volodymyr Zelensky requires an agreement on the possible results of the talks, while the parties have nothing to discuss on this issue. Dmitry Peskov, Spokesman for the Russian President told reporters on Monday.

“In order to talk about the meeting of the two Presidents, we must first do our homework, that is, we must conduct and agree on the results of the negotiations. There is no significant progress so far,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

“They will have nothing to register, there are no agreements that they can correct,” he said.

It should be reminded that on the morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.

The United States and the European Union have described Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
