By 2026, it is planned to build, renovate or repair 300 schools and 500 kindergartens: Hambardzyum Matevosyan

In the field of education, in parallel with the substantive change, the work carried out to improve the infrastructure is one of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan wrote on his Facebook page.

In this regard, by 2026 it is planned to build, renovate or repair at least 300 schools and 500 kindergartens throughout Armenia.

This school seismic safety improvement program is implemented by the Territorial Development Fund on the basis of a loan agreement signed between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Asian Development Bank.

“As a result, by 2024 we will build or strengthen at least 46 schools in Armenia, providing safe educational conditions for about 20,000 pupils. We already have results within the framework of the program, the reconstruction of 7 schools has been completed, the buildings have been put into operation, and this year we plan to complete the construction of 8 schools. At the moment, construction is underway in 20 schools,” Hambardzyum Matevosyan said.
