In case of an attempt to organize a color revolution in one of the CSTO member states, the organization will defend that country, the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said, RIA Novosti reports.
“We have shown that this (CSTO) is a serious organization, that they must take into account that in case of attempts at a color revolution, it will always become a defense in any other CSTO state. It’s very important,” she said.
Matviyenko reminded that Russia has the longest border with Kazakhstan.
“If this situation was not overcome in time, it would have been a threat not only to the sovereignty of Kazakhstan, but also to the security of neighboring countries,” she said.
According to her, the CSTO in Kazakhstan showed its efficiency, demand and the timely establishment of that organization.
