The patrol officer acted lawfully: The Police issued a clarification

The RA Police has issued a clarification, which says,

An article and a video with headline “Incident in Yerevan. A policeman who does not wear a mask fines the driver for not wearing a mask,” has been spread on the Internet

The policeman of the patrol service stopped the taxi driver transporting the passenger, who was driving the car unfastened and without a mask. A video posted on the Internet states that the driver did not submit the documents and stated that the police were not wearing masks.

In connection with the mentioned, let us inform that the patrol officer acted lawfully, was guided by the decision 1514-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, as well as by the requirements of the orders 17-N and 23-N of the RA Minister of Health. That is, wearing a mask is mandatory in closed areas, in vehicles carrying out direct transportation. It is not necessary to wear a mask in the open air areas.

It should be added that two protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up against the driver for driving without a mask and unfastened.

We call once again to observe the rules of road traffic and anti-epidemic safety. Protocols on administrative violations will be drawn up against the violators of the order.”
