A new system for the protection of workers’ rights has been launched: The RA Health and Labor Inspection Body reports

The RA Health and Labor Inspection Body has launched the EmployeeProtect.am platform for the protection of labor rights on 1 October.

“Its main objective is to strengthen the system of protection of labor rights in the Republic of Armenia.

We declare 2021 the year of improving the control over the labor law by the RA Health and Labor Inspection Body.

By launching the electronic platform for addressing complaints on violations of labor rights, we aim to increase trust in the Inspection Body, create conditions for the applicants to make it easier for them to present labor law issues to the Inspection Body, and third, which is very important to me, have a clearer statistics: on the types of complaints,” Hakob Avagyan, the Head of the RA Health and Labor Inspection Body says.

EmployeeProtect.am is a platform for quick response to problems or apparent violations in the field of labor and protection of labor rights, where employees can submit an application to the Inspection Body.

Photos, videos, recordings and other evidence can be attached to the application. The application can be submitted by any person, including employees of state and private organizations, who have encountered problems in the field of labor law in Armenia.

It is envisaged that in the future the tool for submitting anonymous applications on the platform will be launched as well, which will allow sending the application to an anonymous, protected IP address.

The platform is also available in mobile version, both for download and online.
Through the platform, the Inspection Body also, based on the information provided by the employees on the existing problems in the field of labor protection, implements evidence based reforms, informs the employees about the latest news in the field of the protection labor right.

It should be noted that the EmployeeProtect.am platform was developed with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Armenian Lawyers’ Association in the framework of the “Fight against Coronavirus” Project funded by the United Nations COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.”
