On 2 June, Goris Police department initiated a criminal case under the requirements of Article 104 (2.6.) and Article 235 (1) of the RA criminal Code, on the fact of shooting in Goris on 1 June 2013 at 23:00 near the house of Suren Khachatryan, the Governor of Syunik Marz. As a result of shooting after the quarrel, Avetik Budaghyan died and two other persons were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

During the pre-investigation process a great amount of weapons was discovered and seized, forensics medical examination as well as ballistic expertise was set, the search and other urgent investigative activities were realized.

According to the information from the RA prosecution Office, Zarzand Artashes Nikoghosyan and Tigran Surik Khachatryan, residents of Goris city were arrested on 2 and 3 June 2013, on suspicion of crimes performed under the requirements of Article 104 (2.6.) and Article 235 (1) of the RA criminal Code.

The investigation shall reveal all the circumstances and persons involved in the crime notwithstanding their position or title and their actions shall be treated correspondingly.
