Will Armenian citizens in Russia be able to participate in the elections?

The Embassy of Armenia in the Russian Federation, in response to citizens’ inquiries, informs:

“The citizens of the Republic of Armenia can vote in the 20 June extraordinary parliamentary elections only by being physically present in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

According to the procedure defined by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, it is not envisaged to open polling stations abroad, to hold voting.

The procedure of conducting the elections is regulated by the RA Constitutional Law “RA Electoral Code”, adopted on 25 May, 2016. It includes the latest additions. Part 1 of Article 56 of this law stipulates that “voting shall be held only in the precinct centers established in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.”
