One of the main reasons for the problems with the state borders of the Republic of Armenia is that the Government does not base the discussions and decisions on the rights of border residents and human rights in general.

That is why the Government is failing in its positive obligations, making inadmissible mistakes in the rights of its citizens, first of all in guaranteeing the normal life of the border population.

All issues related to the state borders should not be discussed only from the political and military point of view, due to the consequences of the war and the anti-Armenian policy of the Azerbaijani authorities.

The human rights of the border population, the normal living conditions of the border population (rights to life, property, to live in dignity and security, pursuit of happiness and other rights) should be put first. We are stronger than these positions in the international arena.

If this continues, the shortcomings and failures will only increase.

We must not forget that one of the mandatory international principles of delimitation and demarcation is democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
