On 4 May, President Armen Sarkissian signed a decree stating:

“Based on the proposal of the Prime Minister, in accordance with Article 133, Part 1 of the Constitution, and Article 40, Part 1, Clause 1 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of a Soldier.

To dismiss Karen ABRAHAMYAN from the post of Chief of the Operative General Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.”
