Why did the US President recognize the Armenian Genocide? According to Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, there is one long-term, one medium-term and two short-term factors.

“The long-term factor is definitely the consistent work with the Armenian community and the Diaspora in the United States. The medium-term factor is Turkey’s regional policy and in this context the dissonance between Turkey and the United States. The short-term factor is the 44-day war and Turkey’s open and active involvement in it and Armenia being a democratic country,” Nikol Pashinyan stated in the National Assembly.

According to him, these are the four factors that led the US President to make that unprecedented and historic decision.
