Some media outlets are spreading rumors that the police are “actively interfering” in the pre-election processes. The police issued a clarification on the issue, which states:
“We inform that this kind of news has nothing to do with reality.
The Police has functions clearly defined by law during the pre-election period, during the actual elections, and has performed and will continue to perform the tasks assigned to it exclusively within the framework of those powers.
“We urge to refrain from the arbitrary practice of making arbitrary assessments and misleading citizens when commenting on public processes,” the statement reads.
