Today the Cassation Court will consider in written procedure the investigation on the criminal case of four activists of the Armenian National Congress (ANC): Tigran Arakelyan, Artak Karapetyan, Sargis Gevorgyan and Davit Kirimijanyan.
The Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan, under the precidency of judge Gagik Poghosyan decided to sentence the ANC activist Tigran Arakelyan to 6 years of imprisonment. Activist Artak Karapetyan was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment and activists Sargis Gevorgyan and Davit Kirimijanyan were sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment each.
Tigran Arakelyan was recognized guilty for using violence dangerous for life or health violence and not dangerous for life or health and hooliganism against the representative of the power; Artak Karapetyan for using violence not dangerous for life or health and hooliganism; Sargis Gevorgyan and Davit Kirimijanyan for hooliganism.
