Jehovah’s Witnesses refused to serve in the Army

Court of the First Instance of Ajapnyak and Davidashen Administrative Districts of Yerevan had been considering the criminal case of Artashes Karyan, who had no previous convictions since 28 July 2011. He was accused for evading from the Army service though the medical commission had recognized him fitting for military service. However he refused to go to the alternative military service as well, and reasoned his decision with the fact that he was the follower of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The means of restraint against the defendant Vardan B. was set cognizance not to leave․
