Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Russia 24 TV channel, that when making the 9 November statement, there was a struggle for every phrase, Izvestia reports.
He also described the attempts to accuse Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of treason as groundless.
“Attempts of accusations of treason against the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan have no basis. The situation began to develop in such a way that something predictable happened: the Azerbaijani armed forces took control of Shushi. And as Prime Minister Pashinyan said yesterday, quite fairly and honestly addressing his people, the situation was critical for the Armenian side. It was a matter of hours: Perhaps the capture of Stepanakert and further movement was possible,” Putin said.
He also stressed that Russia, within the framework of bilateral obligations, including in the field of military-technical cooperation, has fully fulfilled all its obligations For this, the leadership of Armenia, including Pashinyan, repeatedly expressed gratitude and emphasized that the Russian Federation fulfills all obligations in this area, the president added.
At the same time, the CSTO could not take part in the settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, since the region is not the territory of Armenia.
At the same time, Putin also clarified that he did not notice any peculiarities in the relationship between Russia and Armenia during Pashinyan’s premiership.
