As of 21 October, at 11:00, a total of 68,530 cases of coronavirus disease have been confirmed, of which: 49,219 –  recovered, 1,121 – with death, 17,869 are currently receiving actual treatment. In total, 357,104 tests were performed.

Thus, we have 1836 new cases of coronavirus disease, 485 recovered, 4340 tests have been performed.

Regarding the deaths, we inform that the patients were 73 years old (male), 52 years old (male), 81 years old (male), 79 years old (female), 62 years old (female), 81 years old (female), 67 years old female), 75 years old (female), 77 years old (female), 49 years old (female), 60 years old (female), 74 years old (female), 80 years old (female), 66 years old (male), 79 years old (male), 66 years old (female), 83 years old (female), 83 years old (female), 85 years old (female) and 16 years old (girl). They all had concomitant chronic diseases.

Notably, the first case of death of a child from coronavirus has been registered since the beginning of the spread of the epidemic in Armenia. A 16-year-old child (girl) had severe concomitant diseases, in particular, a 2-year-old postoperative condition after partial removal of a malignant neoplasm of the brain (elongated brain) (astrocytoma), a vegetative state (did not speak, did not walk, did not sit, did not communicate), to which was added COVID-19 with its effects. The loss is painful. The doctors took all necessary measures, but it was not possible to save the child’s life.

The previous day, 3 deaths were registered, when the patients had a coronavirus infection, but the death was caused due to another disease. The total number of such cases is 321.
