By the decision of the government, state of war and general mobilization have been declared in the Republic of Armenia. The National Assembly is holding a special sitting.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the border situation from the NA tribune.
“This is Azerbaijan’s attempt to resolve the issue of Artsakh and Karabakh by military means, to occupy Nagorno Karabakh and this is an act of obvious aggression. Taking into account the fact that in the current military-political situation there is a direct threat of an attack on the borders of Armenia, the Armenian government has declared a state of war and a general mobilization.
At the moment, the first stage is being carried out, that is, partial mobilization, but we have decided to make such a decision so that we have the opportunity to respond operatively to the situation, if necessary,” the Prime Minister said.
He mentioned that we have victims from both the military and civilians.
“Either we renounce the rights of the people of Artsakh, the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh, the right to self-determination, or we get a war. And it is this context that brings us to such a conflict today. The people of Armenia must stand firm in the positions of defense of the people of Artsakh. “This is not an exaggeration to say that this is another, perhaps the most important stronghold of our millennial struggle for survival,” the Prime Minister said.
He mentioned that he did not come as commander-in-chief to say what our soldiers and generals were ready for. “Today I came to say what I am ready for. I am ready to die for the sake of our homeland. The Armenian people have not been on their knees. The Armenian people must stand on this ground with a strong backbone and a clear mind.”
It should be reminded that on 27 September, at around 07:15, the enemy, using artillery and strike UAVs, attacked along the line of contact between the Artsakh and Azerbaijani armed forces, targeting the settlements located in the deep rear, including the capital Stepanakert.
