Mikael Minasyan will be arrested։ The Court made a Decision

Today, on 22 September, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan upheld the motion of the State Revenue Committee to choose the detention of former Armenian Ambassador to the Vatican Mikayel Minasyan as a measure of restraint.

Gor Abrahamyan, Advisor to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, confirmed this information in a conversation with Iravaban.net.

It should be noted that the motion on the arrest was examined by the judge of Avan residence Manvel Shahverdyan.

To recall, according to the SRC press release, a decision was made on one of the episodes of the multi-episode criminal case with a combination of sufficient evidence to involve Mikael Ara Minasyan as an accused according to Article 310.1, Part 1 (illegal enrichment), Article 314.3, Part 2 (concealment of particularly large amounts of data subject to declaration) and Article 190, Part 3, Paragraph 1 (especially large amounts) money laundering) of the RA Criminal Code.

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case substantiated that M. Minasyan, being a person obliged to submit a declaration defined by the RA Law on Public Service, in the reporting period, that is in 2017-2018. During the year, he increased his property by millions of drams, which significantly exceeded his legal income and did not reasoned them, he was illicitly enrich.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
