The U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne M. Tracy, the USAID Armenia Mission Director Deborah Grieser., Acting Representative of the Armenian office “UNICEF”, Liv Elin Indreiten and the RA Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan reaffirmed cooperation in overcoming the coronavirus and discussed further joint programs.

During the meeting organized at the Republican Center for Humanitarian Aid, the next batch of items needed to fight the coronavirus was handed over to the Ministry of Health. 24 oxygen devices and 2000 nasal tubes, which will be provided to medical organizations dealing with coronavirus disease.
Emphasizing the ongoing cooperation with international partners, Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan stressed that the ongoing comprehensive measures will help to ensure the desired result in the fight against COVID-19.
“We thank our partners for their support during the epidemic, not only in terms of providing medical equipment, but also for expert assistance in technical matters, which is aimed at effectively responding to the coronavirus epidemic,” the Deputy Minister said.
Notably, within the framework of the USAID joint program, UNICEF has already purchased and provided 10,000 tests for the diagnosis of COVID-19 epidemic to the Ministry of Health. The support to the RA healthcare system will be continuous. It is carried out not only by providing the necessary equipment and accessories, but also by training medical staff and public awareness activities.
