Gegharkunik Governor Gnel Sanosyan issued a statement saying:

“With the new order of the Commandant, from 1 April, from 14:00 until 12 April, the restrictions on certain types of movement and economic activity in emergency situations have been extended.

Today, checkpoints will be in place at 14:00 on all roads entering Vardeniants Pass, Sotk – Karvachar, Sevan – Yerevan highways, Tavush Marz, as well as in the settlements. At the checkpoints, interregional and intercommunity roads, the officers of the RA Police, Military Police, National Security Service are assisted by the employees of Gegharkunik regional administration, local self-government bodies and regional health structures.

Causes of citizens’ movement, thermometers and other necessary actions are specified. In order to make the measures more regulated and to restrict the movement of the population, the relevant bodies shall work collaboratively as prescribed.”
