We will be Extremely Strict and impose Penalties: Armen Kotolyan about Inspections in Alcogel area

The Market Surveillance Inspection Body conducts extensive inspections in the alcogel market. Mr. Armen Kotolyane head of the inspection body said in the interview with Iravaban.net.

According to him, considering the increase in the number of alcogel producers and the numerous consumer reports related to infringements by some alco gel-producing businesses which is due to the sharp increase in alcogel demand in recent days, the Market Surveillance Inspection Body has initiated extensive inspection of the alcogel market.

“The Alcogel field was an open field and was not controlled by any inspection body, since none of the sheets contained the FEACN (Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity) code for alcogel. So, we asked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to allow inspections in the field, and which he allowed and we quickly added it in our checklists. The inspections have been launched since today,” he said.

According to Armen Kotolyan, there were also publications about this in the media. He also noted that depending on the type of violation, a fine of 100,000 to 300,000 AMD is envisaged. “We had to keep the field under control. If there are violations of the certificates, we will show the most severe approach, because no one should use this situation and make money at the expense of the health of the rest of the citizens,” Armen Kotolyan said.

Notably, Iravaban.net also recorded a violation: on 13 March published that Iravaban.net’s correspondent bought from “Vitafarm” pharmacy at 1/19 Pushkin Street two cans of 1 liter of capacity of Sanitelle antiseptics, noticed that a new label with new deadline date, 16.12.19 was stuck at the section for indication of date of expiry, under the label, on the box marked the expiry date of 16.12.13 was indicated.
