SJC urges those who want to be present at Trial to refrain from coming to Court Hearing

Taking into account the viral situation in the republic, the judiciary takes all possible measures to ensure the smooth operation of its activities to ensure the enjoyment of the constitutionally guaranteed human rights protection and the fundamental right to a fair trial. This is reported by the SJC.

“At the same time stressing the importance of any efforts to prevent the coronavirus outbreak, the Supreme Judicial Council:

– urges those who wish to be present at the hearing to refrain from appearing at court hearings, with the exception of mass media representatives, who are urged to ensure online broadcasting of cases;

– Calls on the parties to the proceedings to be limited in the scope of the participation of their representatives in the proceedings, except where the presence is mandatory;

– Instructs the bailiffs’ office to exclude crowding in the courts;

– recommends that all courts and judges exercise their functions as far as possible by written procedures established by law;

– instructs the Presidents of Courts, the Judicial Department and the Bailiff Service to ensure that some staff members are able to work remotely;

– instructs the Presidents of the Courts, the Judicial Department and the Bailiff Service to strictly adhere to the rules of hygiene and coronavirus prevention established by the Ministry of Health in organizing court work and in contacts with citizens;

– instructs the Judicial Department to provide all courts of the Republic of Armenia with anti-septic materials prescribed by health regulations and to supervise their application,” the statement reads.
