Flights from Iran to Armenia have not been stopped: Edmon Marukyan

The Armenian border with Iran has never really been closed. NA deputy Edmon Marukyan made this statement.

“In particular, flights from Iran to Armenia have not been stopped; truck drivers arriving from Iran to Armenia by land enter the country without interruption. As for special surveillance, we all know that the disease has a secret period and it is extremely difficult to detect in a secret period.

Therefore, the statement made by the government yesterday evening that the air and ground communication with Iran is being shut down is untrue,” he said.

Notably, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced today that the Coronavirus Prevention Commission has convened a meeting.

“With the results it was decided.

  1. Terminate land communications with the Islamic Republic of Iran for two weeks.
  2. Apply incomplete restrictions on air communication.
  3. Carry out cargo transportation with the Islamic Republic of Iran without restrictions, using a special control regime for drivers.
  4. Not to apply any restrictions for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran to return to their homeland.
  5. Be in close communication with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for two weeks, complete information on the extent of coronavirus spread in Iran to further clarify.

The Government shall soon adjourn the relevant decision, which shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
