Upcoming Session of the Supreme Judicial Council, where pursuant to Article 90 (2) of the Judicial Code, the Council will act as a court, will be held on 20 February at 15:00 pm in the building of the Supreme Judicial Council (17 Koryun str.).

The issue of considering Arayik Melkumyan’s application, of revision on the basis of new matters of the SJC-8-VO-K-4 decision adopted by the Supreme Judicial Council on 14.02.2019 is on the agenda.

On 14 February, 2019, the Supreme Judicial Council announced the decision to discipline Arayik Melkumyan, a judge of the Yerevan District Court of First Instance, according to which the powers of the judge have been terminated.

However, the Constitutional Court declared unconstitutional the clause pursuant to which the powers of the judge were terminated. Arayik Melkumyan has appealed to the SJC demanding restoration of his judge’s powers.
