If I ever again hear a Hint of an MP being funded by Philip Morris, you will all be held accountable: Lusine Badalyan

The National Assembly is discussing the Law “On Reduction and Prevention of Health Damage due to the Use of Tobacco Products and their Substitutes”.

The law prohibits tobacco products or their substitutes or imitation tobacco products, with the exception of tobacco products or their substitutes or imitation tobacco products used for medical purposes:

1) Sale without permission provided by law;

2) Public exhibits in shops. The list of prices with the price indication is provided by the seller to the adult upon request. The list is not posted in the store.

Promoting sales (sales) of imitation tobacco products in the following ways will also be prohibited:

1) Using verbally or through speech or image of tobacco products or their substitutes or imitation tobacco products or accessories (except for substitutes for medical use), imitation tobacco products in the advertisement of other goods, work or services.

2) Reference to or inclusion of tobacco products or their substitutes or imitation tobacco products or accessories (except for substitutes for medical use), imitation tobacco products in the advertisement of other goods, work or services.

3) Production or import or sale of food or toys imitating a tobacco product;

4) Depiction of imitations or use of tobacco products or their substitutes or imitation tobacco products or accessories in audio-visual composition products for children (television films, videos, theatrical performances, broadcast on television, radio or the Internet) produced in the Republic of Armenia.

MP Narek Zeynalyan directed a question to Arsen Torosyan related to this provision “whether the salt sticks or tobacco-like chewing gum can be considered as similar to a tobacco product.”
