The number of people infected with coronavirus in China has increased by 2101 during the day, with 259 dead. This was reported by CGTN .
According to the latest data, 11,821 people have been infected with coronavirus in China and another 124 people in other countries. In addition, 243 patients were discharged from Chinese hospitals.
As of 31 January, 9,720 new viral infections were confirmed.
Earlier, the World Health Organization recognized the outbreak of coronaviruses as an emergency of international importance.
On 30 January, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin ordered to close the border with China because of the risk of spreading the coronavirus. Since then, Russia has imposed restrictions on air traffic with China.
The first two cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Russia on 31 January, with patients living in Transbaykalia and Tyumen.
