Israeli political scientist-publicist Avigdor Eskin wrote a note thanking the US Air Force General of Armenian origin Jeffrey (Jeff) Harigian for his assistance in the operation of assassination attempt on Jassem Sulaiman, commander of the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

This is reported by the government information platform “Information Verification Center” launched by the government.

The political scientist in particular wrote: “Special thanks to the US Air Force General Jeffrey Harigian for his role in the operation on liquidation of Sulaiman.”

It should be noted that the Armenian general has nothing to do with the aforementioned actions, having been appointed commander of American air force in Europe and Africa in June 2019, which does not include the Middle East. In other words, the region in question is not under the command of the US General of Armenian origin.

In this context, speculating on the name of Armenia or the Armenian people and attempting to engage in the conflict is provocative and dangerous. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a consultation today that Armenia would not engage in either anti-Iranian or anti-American actions and called on friendly countries Iran and the US to immediately begin negotiations to prevent further deterioration.

This is not the first time that different circles are trying to present Armenia as a part to the conflict. Earlier, “Diana Harutyunyan”, a fake Armenian-language Facebook user, wrote that Prime Minister Pashinyan had sent a congratulatory letter to the US President Donald Trump on the murder of Sulaiman. The news spread widely in Azerbaijani and Iranian media, including in Persian language.

Shortly thereafter, the National Security Service of Armenia detected and found the author of the news, who confessed in spreading false news for political reasons. The person is arrested.
