The total number of voters was 850,124 citizens while publishing the preliminary lists of the voters for the election of Yerevan Council of Elderly, and 843,343 while publishing the final voter lists, of which 7741 are non-Armenian citizens.
Mnatsakan Bichakhyan, Head of Police Passport and Visa Department, said this at the Information Center of the Central Electoral Commission on September 23. In his words, the number of voters included in the final lists has dropped by 1781 as compared to the initial ones.
“According to the order of the Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia, police officers have made visits to apartments to find lists of possible inaccuracies. Data were collected about 614 dead persons who were not available to the competent state body and death was not registered in the prescribed manner. The data of the dead were removed from the list of voters,” the head of the passport and visa department said.
