As of 12 April, at 12:15, at least 50 people were taken to different departments of the RA Police. They were mostly students participating in the strike and were taken to the Police department from the rally in front of the Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi. Earlier it was reported that 11 universities in Yerevan declared a strike.

This morning, near the Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, eight policemen attacked a professor at the same university, physician Hayk Hovhannisyan, who was then brutally beaten. The doctor was taken to hospital # 1 with cerebral injury and broken cheekbone.
According to information received by the hot line, about 40 soldiers joined the demonstrators.
There have also been reports that schools in Yerevan, Noyemberyan, Hrazdan, Echmiadzin Cities and Myasnikyan village of Armavir the pupils are threatened and not allowed to participate in anti-government demonstrations.
As of 23April, 33 citizens were arrested. The number of people detained in the period April 17-23 exceeded 1000. About 500 cars were taken to the Special Protected Area of the police.
