As it has already been announced, the RA Police, in accordance with Article 33 of the RA Law on Freedom of Assembly, has taken a decision to stop the rally organized by the NA deputy Nikol Pashinyan.

By virtue of the law today, Nikol Pashinyan was informed of the decision of the police today.

The organizer ignored the requirements of the mentioned decision, did not fulfill the duties of the organizer provided by the law, an again called on to continue the assembly, and to continue actions that violate the public order and hinder the realization of others’ rights and freedoms.

Article 33, Part 3 of the RA Law on Freedom of Assembly, in such a situation, authorizes the police to disperse the assembly with the use of special means provided for by the RA Law on Police.

The Police of the Republic of Armenia is ready to carry out its duty, which can take place at any time, and thus we urge the participants to refrain from illegal actions to avoid unwanted consequences.

Taking note of the consequences of such actions, journalists at the site are encouraged to maintain a reasonable distance from the participants.
