Today, on March 26, parliamentary hearings on prescription medication are being held in the National Assembly.
Mr. Gevorg Grigoryan, Founder of the Armenian Association of Young Doctors in his speech noted that the policy chosen by the Ministry is very promising and realistic, but it will be feasible in a few years, at the same time applicability of the decision on prescriptions causes serious problems in practice.
“If we look at the prescription as an idea, it has a rather long history since the creation of medicine, however we have a new format of prescription that limits us to 2 drugs. It is possible that these drugs may not be available the same pharmacy, maybe price is differences in 2 different pharmacies, and we deprive the patient of access to several pharmacies with that prescription. They say there is a multiple-use prescription, but we have to neglect ethical norms and ask our patients if they have enough means to buy those drugs and only after the positive reply we may write out a prescription for multiple use,” Gevorg Grigoryan said.
According to the founder of the Armenian Association of Young Doctors, the dialogue between society and the government has always been useful: “The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project, is a vivid example of this and the issue in question has been raised in its scope.”
