The combat activities, which the enemy started since midday on 23 April on the line of contact of confronting armies continued in the night of 23 to 24 April as well.
During the mentioned period the enemy used weapons of different calibers in the north eastern direction (Martakert) and northern direction (Talish) using 60 mm (19 shells) and 82 mm (99 shells) mortars, 122 mm D-30 type howitzers (19 bombs) and TR-107 multiple rocket launchers (25 rockets), intensively shooting in the direction of the defense Army’s positions.
It is noteworthy that the enemy has chosen Mataghis settlement as a target of attacks in addition to the military positions. One bomb shot from D-30 type howitzer was fired into the village. Fortunately there were no losses.
The vanguard units of the Defense Army undertake measures for stabilization of the situation under the conditions of armed resistance and containment actions.
NKR Defense Ministry informs that the aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani side once again proves that the enemy continues to violate openly agreement on cease-fire between the sides reached on 5 April and are aimed to exacerbate the situation in the frontline.
