The issue of the undesirable advertising messages is in the center of attention of the RA Ministry of Justice. MP Naira Zohrayan raised this issue in her statement at the National Assembly, and this was an opportunity for Personal Data Protection Agency of the Minister of Justice to study the legality of messages received from xopan.am to mobile phone numbers and further to present the advisory decision about it. Arpine Hovhannisyan, the Minister of Justice wrote about it on her Facebook page, she added:

In this case we speak about “just marketing”.

“Although in this case the message was sent by the private marketing organization, however to exclude such cases I highlight the importance of the role of the operator providing services and expect that the organizations (or operators) providing electronic communication will undertake the required, organizational, technical (programmatic) measures for prevention the using of the subscriber’s personal data without their agreement. It is obvious that here violation of the RA Law on Personal Data Protection has been violated.”
