Representatives of the Armenian delegation Mr. Karen Zadoyan, Coordinator of the SCOs’ Anti-Corruption Coalition Secretariat, President of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association (AYLA), Mr. Artak Saribekyan, the AYLA Executive Director and Ms Naira Gyulnazaryan, Coordinator of Anti-Corruption Projects of OSCE Yerevan Office had an official meeting with Mr. Adnan Pandu Praja, the Deputy Chairman/Commissioner of Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), other representatives of the leadership of KPK and representatives of the leading civil society organizations of Indonesia. The meeting was held in the office of Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission in Jakarta, Indonesia.
At the beginning, Mr. Adnan Pandu Praja welcomed the Armenian delegation’s visit to Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission and introduced the history of KPK, its activities, success stories and the current problems.
Further, Mr. Karen Zadoyan, Coordinator of the SCOs’ Anti-Corruption Coalition Secretariat, President of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the activities of the Armenian CSO’s Coalition, the AYLA and Iravaban.net website. He also spoke about Armenia’s policies in the sphere of the fight against corruption, the challenges and current situation of the sphere and the development trends. Ms Gyulnazaryan spoke about the ant-corruption programs of the international organizations and specifically about those implemented by the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
During the meeting, the representatives of Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission introduced the work of Deputy Internal Monitoring and Public Complaints Departments of KPK.
The representatives of leading CSOs of anti-corruption sphere of Indonesia introduced the activities they carry out, the current challenges of anti-corruption sphere of Indonesia and the mechanisms for their solution.
The parties discussed the issues of the international anti-corruption movement; the importance of independent anti-corruption bodies on national levels and a strong civil society. Among other issues the parties also discussed the issues on possible future cooperation, including the cooperation with Malaysia Anti Corruption Academy.
After the meeting, the sides exchanged souvenirs.
