In the framework of the 16th International Anti Corruption Conference (IACC) in Putrajaya, Malaysia, representatives of the Armenian delegation Mr. Karen Zadoyan, Coordinator of the SCOs’ Anti-Corruption Secretariat, President of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association (AYLA), Mr. Artak Saribekyan, the AYLA Executive Director and Ms Naira Gyulnazaryan, Coordinator of Anti-Corruption Projects of OSCE Yerevan Office had an official meeting with Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Datuk Mustafar Ali and Datuk Mohamad Jamidan Abdullah has been appointed as the new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy chief commissioner in charge of management and professionalism. The latter coordinates the activities of Malaysia Anti Corruption Academy. A number of high officials from Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the Malaysia Anti Corruption Academy participated in the meeting as well.
Mr. Zadoyan introduced to their attention information on the activities and implemented projects of the CSO’s Anti-Corruption Coalition and the AYLA and spoke about the current state policy in anti-corruption sphere and prospects of development. Further Ms Gyulnazaryan spoke about the ant-corruption programs implemented by the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
Datuk Mustafar Ali provided information on the history of the establishment of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the Malaysia Anti Corruption Academy, their achievements, current problems and future plans.
The parties discussed the issues of the international anti-corruption movement; the importance of independent anti-corruption bodies on national levels and a strong civil society. Among other issues the parties also discussed the issues on possible future cooperation, including the cooperation with Malaysia Anti Corruption Academy.
After the meeting, the sides exchanged souvenirs.
