“There are number of cases when a parent refuses to pay alimony for child’s living condition and for that reason hides his income,” says Advocate Liana Balyan.
“I have come across with a lot of cases concerning the issue of the alimony exaction. For instance, last month I had alimony exaction suit: the husband was a taxi driver and had income but was not registered for tax and did not get income. Considering this fact, the Court counted as stable amount of money and only AMD 30.000 stable salary for two children was stated,” mentioned the Advocate by adding that according to wife her husband gets AMD 200.000-250.000 stable salary.
Mrs. Balyan reported that the spouses often avoid paying alimony by hiding their real incomes: “Many spouses have business which is registered, for example, on their parents’ name. After the divorce when the parties come to the court for the alimony it is found out that person is on the rocks so the alimony is stated with the same amount,” said the expert.
