Community Mobilization, as an End to Impunity in the Sphere of Public Procurement

The 16th International Anti-Corruption \Conference continued its work today on the 3rd of September 2015. The participants attended round table discussions on different topics, which were held simultaneously. The themes were topical for different countries of the world, Armenia including: Eliminate impunity and strengthen integrity in the sphere of construction industry; six changes for correction of the whistleblowers’ institute; the Authorities’ fight against corruption (what is correct and what is wrong), etc. The discussions were interesting, frank, vivid and meaningful. Prominent leaders of anti-corruption struggle, scientists, state and public figures representatives of the international organizations and media participated in the discussions as speakers.

The round tables were followed by the second plenary session on peace, equality and social justice. The main objective of the plenary session was to point out the developments and input in struggle against corruption after 2015.

The plenary session was followed by the round table discussions on anti-corruption and integrity topics where the participants discussed the role of youth and social movements in the fight against corruption, the role of public surveillance including the role of CSOs in the sphere of public procurements, and mobilization of the community as an end to impunity in this sphere as well as a number of other urgent topics.

In the nearest future, the lessons learned during the conference will be used in different countries for strengthening the fight against corruption and development of the organizational capacity to fight corruption.

It is due to notice that the 16th International Anti-Corruption Conference, which has over 1000 participants, is currently held in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

The Conference will continue its work tomorrow.
