“It is ridiculous; such an institution especially with those members cannot have positive outcome in the Anti-Corruption sphere,” Mr. Vardan Harutyunyan Human Rights Activists, President of the “Center for Rights and Freedom” NGO, referring to the first session of the Anti-Corruption Council.
According to him, the fact that the NGOs and the Opposition Factions refused to join it shows there is no trust towards the effective activity of the institution created by the Government.
In the opinion of the human rights activist if there was a wish to fight against the corruption in this case there would be fewer representatives of the Government in the Council. The majority of the members should have been the representatives of the civil society who are specialized in that sphere and can work professionally.
