Today, the Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan closed the first session of the Anti-Corruption Council referring to the actions against the raise of the electricity tariffs.
Speaking about the fact of blocking the streets he said “Sitting, blocking the streets and carrying out the sit-in actions, In my opinion this does not issue from anyone’s interests. It may be considered as justified in case where no one listens to the protestors. But there was no such thing, starting with the President, when we did not express willingness and readiness to meet with them and discuss at least once. They sit in the streets and speak; then sit in the parks and speak. Speak about blocking the streets and paralyzing the traffic. But what for? If your objective is solution of the problems that the state faces, pardon me, but such way is unacceptable for me. Please come and let’s discuss,” he said.
According to him, the Government is always willing to discuss issues with both the activists and opposition. “We are the people who shall explain to our public. This is the correct way, to sit around the table and discuss. There is no other way,” concluded the Prime minister.
