“You, remorseless people, give me back my money: I have two children, how shall I live?”- Accused

Today the court hearing on case of Lavrent Kosyan and others continued, headed by the judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan. The judge reminded one more time that the case of the accused Hrachik Chplakhyan is separated from this case and will be investigated separately, because of health problems of the accused.

During the sitting Levon Kosyan’s defender Armen Feloyan presented a motion to change his defendant’s detention as a measure of restraint into a pledge, as long as there are no appropriate and certain proves to detain the accused, who will do no harm in case of being set free. The prosecutor objected the motion, considering it baseless. At that moment the accused Lilya Martirosyan stood up and turned to the other accused, crying: “I beg you, godless people, give me back my money, at least half-and-half: You, remorseless people, I have two children, how shall I live?» The judge stopped the accused, saying that she’d better keep her words for her speech. The judge considering the motion baseless rejected it. Lilya Martirosyan defender Hakobyan brought for a motion to postpone the sitting, as long as he was busy with another court case. The judge satisfied the motion and the sitting was postponed.

The court hearing will be held on 25 August.

Notably, Lilya Martirosyan is accused for the attempt to give a bribe, Hrachik Chplakhyan is accused for mediating for the attempt to give a bribe, and Lavrent Kosyan and Levon Kizokyan are accused for dishonesty and abducting large amount of money. Recognizance not to leave the country was chosen as measure of restraint for Lilya Martirosyan and Hrachik Chplakhyan, and for the others detention was chosen as measure of restraint.
