35-year-old Arthur Sargsyan by introducing himself as an Italian businessman and the Head of the Legal Department of the RA Government, was accused in larceny of especially large amount of money was sentenced the first instance court to 9 years imprisonment. According to his Advocate Hunan Babayan they have appealed the decision: “It is unreasoned; there is no clear argumentation. We do not agree with both the years of imprisonment and the exacted money,” Mr. Babayan said.
He also added that by this decision this property case is being criminalized. Mr. Babayan mentioned that the Court of Appeal has not appointed the day of the trial yet.
Arthur Sargsyan is accused of introducing himself as an official and for certain cases as a person dealing with the lucrative business in the foreign countries; from September 2008 till March 2012, under the pretense of deals with different physical and legal persons, by dishonesty that is by the means of deception and abuse of confidence he committed a larceny of large amount of money.
