Attempt to give Bribe to enter the YSU Faculty of Law

A criminal case accusing 4 people for the attempt to give a bribe and trickery abduction is being investigated in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nor Nork Administrative Districts, presiding Judge Gagik Poghosyan.

According to the accusation Lilya Martirosyan wanted her son to become a student at YSU faculty of Law. For this question she turned to Hrachik Chplakhyan, lecturer at Armenian State Pedagogical University.

Hrachik Chplakyan told about this the other 2 defendants – Lavrent Qyosayan and Levon Kizokyan, who learning that the woman was ready to give a bribe to public figures promised to be mediators with the aim to abduct especially large amount of money from Lilya Martirosyan.

Lilya Martirosyan is accused for the attempt to give a bribe, Hrachik Chplakhyan is accused for mediating for the attempt to give a bribe, and Lavrent Qyosayan and Levon Kizokyan are accused for dishonesty and abducting large amount of money.

Recognizance not to leave the country was chosen as measure of restraint for Lilya Martirosyan and Hrachik Chplakhyan, and for the others detention was chosen as measure of restraint.

Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
